API license
Stratus Supply Chain LLC. In force from October 1, 2026.
1. What this covers
This license covers the Workforce Scan API described at /api-docs: the answers it returns and the keys that call it. The site's terms apply as well. Where the two differ on the API, this license governs. The open data files on the data page stay under CC BY 4.0 and are not affected by it.
2. Who may use it
A key comes with a Pro subscription and belongs to the organization that holds the subscription. It works while the subscription is paid up and stops when it ends. Keep the key secret, use it from your own servers, and do not share it outside your organization. You are responsible for calls made with your key.
3. What you may do
Call the API and use its answers in your own work and in products and reports you provide to your clients, including software your clients use, as long as each place that shows our numbers to someone outside your organization credits “Source: Stratus Workforce Scan” with a link to workforce.stratussc.com. You may keep the answers you receive and use them after your subscription ends, with the same credit.
4. What you may not do
- Resell or publish the answers as a data set, or offer them through your own API, so that others get our data without a key of their own.
- Call the API systematically to copy the task file, the company readings or the Work Bench in bulk, beyond what your own work needs.
- Use the answers to make or justify a decision about a named person, such as hiring, firing, pay or promotion. The data ranks tasks and roles, never people.
- Say or imply that Stratus Supply Chain endorses your product, or present our estimates as measurements or forecasts of jobs lost.
- Get around the rate limit, or share or sell your key.
5. Other people's data
The answers include or rest on data from others, each under its own terms, which pass through to you: the O*NET Database (U.S. Department of Labor, CC BY 4.0), Bureau of Labor Statistics data (public domain), METR's task-completion time horizons, and the Anthropic Economic Index and Anthropic's robot exposure ratings (CC BY 4.0). Where you show those parts, credit their sources as the method page does.
6. Estimates, not promises
Almost every number the API returns is an estimate, explained on the method page. The answers come as they are, with no warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a purpose. The numbers change as the data is rebuilt; each answer says when its data was checked.
7. Changes to the API
The version is in the address (/api/v1/). Within a version we add fields but do not remove or rename them. Before a version is retired, Pro subscribers get at least 90 days' notice by email.
8. What we keep
We do not store what you send, such as roles and headcounts. We count calls by endpoint, against a short code made from your key, to run the rate limit and see what is used. Keys are not stored; they are checked by their signature.
9. Ending
The license ends when your subscription ends, or if you break it and do not put it right within 14 days of our email asking you to. We may suspend a key at once to protect the service from abuse.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything arising from the API is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and neither side is liable to the other for lost profits or indirect losses.
11. Law
The law of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts governs this license, and disputes are heard in the state or federal courts in Massachusetts.
